After working together in Guzaarish and an unreleased Koi Mil Gaya spinoff about the life of Preity Zinta’s character’s parents, Hrithik Roshan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali are coming together for a period drama.
Contrary to what you might have been hoping for, it’s not going to be a drama about periods, but a drama set in a period where mass suicides were backed by soaring soundtracks.
“A lot of people came up to me after watching Padmavat and told me they were disappointed to not see any ornate menstrual aid products in the movie. I have no clue why,” said Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
According to reports, SLB has bought the rights to Soha Ali Khan’s memoir The Perils of Being Moderately Famous and is planning to turn it into a screenplay, with some tweaks that makes it into a dramatic historic mystery/romance.
“Sanjay sir is very good at taking weak storylines and making seemingly grand period dramas out of them,” said a source, who may or may not be Ranveer Singh.
So before you get your expectations high, the yet-to-be-confirmed Hrithik Roshan movie is NOT a drama about periods.
