Last year, Priyanka Chopra made an indelible mark on everyone’s mind (and one unfortunate bystander’s foot when she stepped on it with her 5 inch stiletto heel) with her dramatic trench coat at the MET Gala.

Not only did it birth several conspiracy theories that Priyanka’s coat is the secret venue for Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone’s wedding, It also resulted in a host of memes flooding the Internet.

So it was only natural that all the meme-creators were on the edge of their worn out seats to see what she would wear this year. “The pressure is immense,” says Priyanka Chopra, “I am not sure I would want to be known as the ‘Most Popular Meme’ this year too.”

To prepare for this year, the Baywatch actress wrote a heartfelt open letter to Bollywood’s reigning star kid Taimur Ali Khan and asked him to cut her some slack this time.

“I know you have the expectations of the nation rising on your tiny, Gucci-clad shoulders, but think about all the memes I’d have to endure,” reads the open letter. Priyanka went on to describe the hardships she had to go through after the first waves of trench coat memes hit the Internet. “I couldn’t walk two steps without people asking how many pyramids can my coat’s train hold,” she wrote.

Many people have asked why she has addressed the letter to Taimur instead of AbRam, who was actually the one responsible for the memes, to which a representative of the actress claimed that it was all due to a typo.
