The trailer for Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer Gully Boy released today to largely positive feedback. Bollywood celebrities took to Twitter to congratulate the makers and stars of the movie on the impressive trailer.

The movie is based on the struggles of a rap artist living in the slums of Mumbai and the fact that nobody follows him on Instagram, despite seeing and sharing his Instagram Stories.

But while everybody was congratulating director Zoya Akhtar on the movie’s preview, Bombay Velvet actor Karan Johar’s tweet confused many.

Reportedly, Karan is convinced that Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh are starring in another advertisement for MakeMyTip.com, as they have done in the past, and therefore he tweeted his admiration for the ‘new and intense ad’.

“How was I to know that this is not an ad for MakeMyTrip?” said Karan, after his tweet blew up, “It’s not like they tell you that it’s not an ad or anything in the trailer. How can you be so sure?”

Karan Johar wasn’t the only person who got confused about Gully Boy being an ad. Cricketer Virat Kohli thought it was a well-thought out ad for condom because rappers are human beings and human beings use condoms, sometimes.
