A 37-year-old resident of Lajpat Nagar, Delhi, recently became homeless and alone after taking his obsession with actor’s Aishwarya Rai’s social media presence too far.

“I bet all my savings on Aishwarya Rai making her Instagram debut on 10th May 2018 at precisely 1:37 pm in the afternoon,” says the man, who remains anonymous due to the fact that nobody actually cares about knowing his name, “My wife and kids left me after I lost the bet, saying that I’m crazy and that I need to get a life. What does that even mean?”

While he just wagered his entire life savings (an undisclosed amount), the house was in his wife’s name and he was, therefore, booted out unceremoniously.

“I had carefully researched over the past year, when rumours of Aishwarya joining social media had just started to suface,” he said, “According to my calculations she should have posted her first post on 10th May. But she didn’t.  And now I have to pee in a McDonald’s bathroom.”

According to reports, Aishwarya will officially make her Instagram debut right before her appearance at the Cannes Film Festival’s red carpet, on 11th May.

Was it worth it? We asked the man, as he sat eating Piri Piri fries at his new home, the McDonald’s across the street. “Yes. A thousand times yes.”
