In a shocking turn of event, Sonam Kapoor shocked everyone by releasing a shocking statement that she is, in fact, getting married to her yet-to-be-confirmed-to-the-media-beau Anand Ahuja.

The wedding ceremony, the statement said, will take place on the 8^th of May, but the pre-wedding ceremonies have already started.

The actress, who is getting married for the first time, was suitably excited when she spoke to the press gathered outside her house last evening, “I am very excited to get married. This is a very exciting thing to do. We’re all super excited.”

In the photos, since posted on Instagram, it’s confirmed that Sonam is excited and, also strangely, happy.

“While it’s not unusual for brides to express that emotion during their wedding ceremonies, it’s not entirely natural,” said Jacqueline Fernandez, who was present at the event.

Eagle-eyed fans noticed that Sonam was smiling in all the photos that were posted by her friends and family, including the ones in which she’s with her husband-to-be Anand. “It was definitely bizarre, but knowing Sonam’s temper, we didn’t say anything,” said father-of-the-bride Anil Kapoor.

Sonam Kapoor is known for specifically demanding that none of the movie characters she plays are ever entirely happy, so it’s especially unusual for her to be happy in her real life.
