The teaser of Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha, Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, and Aditya Roy Kapoor starrer Kalank released yesterday. While the preview received positive response from Bollywood fan bot accounts on Twitter, actress Deepika Padukone was not impressed.

“I feel hugely betrayed that Sanjay Leela Bhansali didn’t even call me about a main role in his movie Kalank. I am hurt and confused,” Tweeted Deepika, who is convinced that any, and all, period drama movies in Bollywood have been, and will be, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali only.

“When Ranveer and I did Ramleela together, we made a pact with Sanjay that if he chose us to star in all his movies, we would name our first born child after him. Guess that deal is off the table now,” she said, in an interview.

Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has made his mark directing grand period films and so people’s confusion regarding who actually made Kalank, also a period film, is justified.

“I have been trying to convince Deepika that I had nothing to do with the movie. It’s made by Karan Johar, and directed by Abhishek Varman,” said Sanjay Leela Bhansali, on this recent controversy, “I really wish she would answer my WhatsApp calls. I have already purchased 27 gender neutral onesies with the name ‘Sanjay’ embroidered on them for their baby.”
