The air quality in Delhi is getting worse by the day and it’s safe to say that you should postpone your ‘go outside in the morning and take several deep breaths to meditate’ plans for a few more days (or months). But even though the smog and pollution provide a natural Sepia filter to your photos, it can be bad for your skin. And also your lungs but a healthy pair of lungs haven’t fetched any Instagram likes for anyone ever.

But you don’t have to worry anymore, for we’ve got some simple tips for you protect your skin from pollution while your lungs slowly rot away…

1. Cleanse your skin twice daily. Your goal is to keep your skin as clean as Ranbir Kapoor’s portrayal of Sanjay Dutt in his biopic Sanju.

2. Spend wisely. Save your hard-earned money on make-up by spending twice the amount on a really expensive skincare regime. Snail mucus might cost you your two-month’s salary, but at least your skin would look radiant while you’re coughing away to next week.

3. Do it like the celebs. Dermatologists to the stars, Dr. Rekha Panday claims that completely removing the skin before leaving your home can drastically reduce the chances of it being affected by pollution.

4. Cover your skin completely. In case you can’t shed your skin entirely, try covering it from head to toe. Not only this protects your skin but also brings out your sanskar which is the perfect way to impress your colony aunties.

5. Stay hydrated. Drinking enough water will make you pee so much that you won’t be able to pay attention to the fact that your skin is becoming dull and discoloured and that you can’t breathe without coughing any more.
